Curse of Souls is now up for pre-order on Amazon. It's set at a special promotional rate for a limited time, because I really want as many people as possible to read it. If you are a fan of urban fantasy, werewolves, vampires, demons, and superhumans, with a dash of humor, I think you might enjoy it.
That said, another story you might enjoy is The Archmage's Eclipse. I read it recently and found it very moving. A fine, touching tale set in a world of fantasy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0758DHMZS/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1504209987&sr=1-1

The first portion of Curse of Souls is available on Instafreebie starting today.
I just got the final cover back from MV Covers, and it is fantastic! Dany did an excellent job on the typography, and of course the art by Alberto Besi is unbelievable.
The eclipse today was sorta okay. I had hoped it would be as dark as night, and maybe a few demons would erupt from the ground or SOMETHING, but nothing. It was about as dark as a mildly cloudy day, and it just happened to be a mildly cloudy day. A coworker brought some extra eclipse glasses (he's so darn thoughtful!), so I was able to look at it the proper way, instead of trying to look out of the side of my eye or with my phone as I had intended on doing, since I never plan ahead.
I read a fantasy short by someone in one of my Facebook groups today. Apparently it was written in less than a day, close to 5,000 words. It was extremely good. I look forward to checking out future stories by C. Gold (a period after the first initial - how embarrassing!). If you like fantasy and are looking for new blood: http://www.thegoldenelm.org/ That said, I posted a short teaser from the second chapter of Curse of Souls on The Good Stuff. I plan on putting the prologue and the first two chapters on Instafreebie soon (just need the cover finished up). I'm hoping to put up a preorder within the next two weeks or so, intending on releasing late September. Bill the Vampire by Rick Gualtieri. I enjoyed it quite a bit. If you like your paranormal urban fantasy books with a lot of humor and snark, this is a good choice. I've been meaning to read this series for a while now, and after the July Amazon sale, I picked up a subscription of Kindle Unlimited. It's overwhelming how many books there are to read on this service. I'm now starting No Such Thing As Werewolves by Chris Fox. Another book that's been on my "buy" list for months. So far it's very good. As for myself, I finally figured out how to format for Createspace (only took about 2 days of not being able to figure out why my gutters kept reversing themselves - it was all due to a hidden page break). So as soon as the cover typography is done (maybe another 1 or 2 days), I should be GTG. I plan on offering a free sample on Instafreebie. I'm also working on a prequel novelette that focuses on Jessica Luvkrafft's past that I hope to have ready around the end of October.
Whew. Editing is done. Double checking of the final copy is done. Formatting is done (maybe). I just sent the cover to the typographer to finish it up.
As soon as it's back, I'll put the cover up on The Good Stuff page on my website, as well in the blog. After going back and forth for months, I've decided on a title. My new urban fantasy book is going to be called "Curse of Souls". It will be book one in the "Warrior of Souls" series. This series will focus on hard-hitting action, heart-stopping thrills, and over-the-top villains, supernatural powers, advanced technology and horrific creatures battling mankind for the Earth. In the midst of this eternal struggle is our hapless hero, Sverre Walker. He's more interested in playing video games than saving the world, but he'll do what it takes to get the job done. If you want your supernatural predators slamming each other through buildings and ripping each other's heads off rather than glittering and making googly eyes at each other, this is your jam. |
