November is National Novel Writing Month. Authors around the world try and churn out a 50K+ world novel in a month. Typically, November is a really busy month for me at work, so I never participate in the challenge. However, I have vowed to put fingers to keys and bust some butt this month in an effort of solidarity with my fellow writers who are working their butts off. I've made a big chunk of progress on the next Warrior of Souls Book this year, which will see an end to the "War of Blood" with a short, but new "war".
I've also made good progress on the "Pawns of Gods" book, which is the next book in the Dead Dungeon series. Carine joins the Dungeon Master on his next adventure as his second in command! How will he adapt to losing two of his strongest minions? What does it mean to be the Avatar of Pain? So, look for both of those books to release next year. I don't have a preorder up for the next Warrior of Souls, because I still need to get with Alberto on a new cover design, but I've just been so busy. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with it, as he always does a great job!

Book Seven of the Dead Dungeon series is now out! The Dungeon Master at last faces off against Castigous' most powerful follower, Ragnor. Can the Master take control of Ragnor's dungeon before Ragnor can crush his? For fans of dark fantasy, dungeon crawling, and dungeon management.
The sixth book of the Dead Dungeon series, Dungeon Master, releases today. Upon returning from the deserts of Nosteran, the Dungeon Master realizes there is something amiss in his city. Traveling along to New Vadis, he finds the situation more dire than he could have predicted!
Book One is also free this week, in case you want to jump into the series to test the waters. The Dead Dungeon series is a dark fantasy series that focuses on dungeon crawling, dungeon management (dungeon core), and has some resemblance to GameLit-type books (such as characters getting more powerful as they conquer foes). The next book in the Dead Dungeon series is out. Dungeon Assault picks up where Beneath the Dungeon left off. If you like dungeon core, dungeon crawling, fantasy, and gamelit mechanics applied to a real world, give it a whirl. The Dungeon Master's army and dungeon grows. He can now venture out of his dungeon into the world above. New threats from rival dungeon lords loom on the horizon, but he's ready to meet them.
Wow, last update was in May? I'm such a slacker. Anyhow, there is news! The next book in the Warrior of Souls series, War of Blood, has finally been released. If you like supernatural action-adventure with a splash of humor, check it out.
The fifth book in the Dead Dungeon series releases at the end of this month as well. "TWO books in one month? But...how?" you shout. Well, I worked my butt off for the past few months and decided I'd just release them both in September before the Christmas rush! Whether you like vampires fighting werewolves while driving around in mechs, or deep dungeons filled with monsters and magic, this month has you covered! How's it going? Weird times, here. I'm still employed at my day job, working from home. I keep seeing all these people saying they are bored while they watch whole seasons of TV, buy up video games, and create Rube Goldberg machines or music videos.
Meanwhile, it's the same old same old in our household. My wife goes to work every morning and gets home around 6. I get up around 6 (only because our gargantuan house wolf gets us up at that hour), and usually log on to work around 7:30, then work until about 5:30 or 6. When we are busy, the hours are even longer. It doesn't leave a lot of energy or time for writing. I could only imagine if I had been off from work for weeks. I would have written ten books! Nah, I'd probably have slept 1/3 of the time, played video games and watched Youtube 1/3 of the time, and worked an hour a day or something. Anyhow, I AM working on the next Warrior of Souls Book. I think I promised this thing would be released in February, then March, April...May...the dates keep moving. It's kind of rough right now with everything going on. The artist who does my covers hasn't been able to work on it much due to the pandemic, so there is no cover right now. Other things have fallen behind for similar reasons. So, I can only say it will be done when it's done. Could be June (no), could be July, August, or September, but it will be this year unless something crazy happens. A few games I've enjoyed (in case you were interested): Iratus: Lord of the Dead (If you enjoy games like Darkest Dungeon, you'd probably like this). Mutant Year Zero, Road to Eden (Kind of like X-Com, but with a few new twists). Ancient Enemy (It's a Solitaire-type card game blended with an RPG). Finished up the Phantasm movie series now that Amazon has V. Wasn't too impressed with the last movie, but I was happy to have at least some type of ending to the story. Of course, I've seen all the other movies many times. Really enjoy One and Two. Enjoying the new season of Rick and Morty as well as Solar Opposites (SO is like American Dad meets Rick and Morty). So, hope everyone out there is staying safe and not going crazy. Feel free to drop a line anytime. Enjoy a picture of said house wolf. S Mays |
