2017 has come and gone. 2018 is going to be a whole new chapter.
September contained the release of Curse of Souls, the first book in a new series. It was very well received, and it made me happy to see so many people interested in it. Now, it obviously wasn't for everyone, as it focuses more on the action and adventure instead of the touchy-feelies, but that's fine. There are a million touchy-feely books out there, but not so many hardcore, bone-crunching, death-defying, comedy, horror, adventure, superhero, supernatural books!
December held the release of Sword of Order (Book 0), which focuses on Jessica Luvkrafft. Some people didn't care for Jessica in book one. This is by design. Her arc is just beginning, but I felt the need to show her past before we could begin her journey into the future. Jessica has a tragic past, and I wanted the book to reflect that.
I'm currently around 30% done with Book 2. I predict I will have it ready around March of this year (hopefully). Sorry, I'm just not one of those people who can churn out a book every month. Every 3-4 months is a bit more realistic at this point in my life.
I wanted to thank everyone for their support, comments and feedback. When I see someone say they loved reading a story, and they can't wait for book two, that really motivates me to keep going and work hard. Feel free to email me or leave a comment, review or what have you, saying what you like or don't like. I love hearing from readers.
I'm running a few little contests to win free copies of Sword of Order on Amazon. Just for fun. As for the book itself, it is a standalone story, and does not require any knowledge or reading of the rest of the series to enjoy (some people are wondering).
Book Zero of the Warrior of Souls series is now live. For the next 9 days, it's going to be a special discount price of .99 (or free if you have Kindle Unlimited already). I've also got a contest up to win a copy at https://giveaway.amazon.com/p/a50376a967a6975e#ts-tw. All you have to do is automatically send the Tweet and you are entered.
I'm now focused on Book Two of the series.
The next book in the Warrior of Souls series is up for preorder. "Sword of Order" is a prequel story that follows the early life of Jessica Luvkrafft as she grows from a teenager into a deadly assassin of paranormal creatures. The road isn't easy for her, and this story explains her tragic past, along with why she is hellbent on following the Order's mission, regardless of who gets in her way.
She's led a lonely life, bereft of the normal experiences a girl her age might experience, while also being submerged in a world filled with danger and death at the hands of supernatural enemies.
If you are wondering about Book Two of the series, I'm working on it!
I'm working on a prequel to Curse of Souls that focuses on Jessica's teen years. Unfortunately, Sverre spent his teen years playing video games, listening to metal and rap music, eating, sleeping, hanging out and watching porn. Your run of the mill, average teenage stuff. While he was goofing off, Jessica was undergoing rigorous training to be a Stalker for the Order. I'm about 75% done writing the prequel. I think I can probably get it released around December if I buckle down.
I'm also working on a sequel that ramps up the action. Now that we have the origin story in place, it's time to start kicking butt.
As usual, if you have any questions/requests, comments, feel free to submit them on my contact page. If you sign up for my newsletter, I'm going to offer up short stories and other goodies to subscribers. I also regularly email subscribers about free book deals that I find (maybe once or twice a month).
A small sweepstakes contest for the Curse of Souls Kindle version.
My novel, Curse of Souls, has been out for three days now, and I'm very happy with the release thus far. I have a limited marketing budget (think: maybe a birthday meal with your family and grandparents at Red Lobster. But no one is allowed to get the Captain's Platter), but I'm still managing to get some eyes on it. I'm very happy with the early reviews. I believe the people who aren't enthused about it probably thought it was a different kind of book. Like a boring book. Everyone has different tastes. Some people like boring books. Just kidding! I appreciate the people who took the time to read the book and leave reviews. Thank you very much!
If you are interested in previewing the book before buying, there are two chapters up on Instafreebie. The link is up on the Good Stuff page. If you purchased the book and enjoyed it, please leave a review or comment about it all over the entire internet. Even sites that don't sell books. Car sites, underwear sites, porn sites, and of course all of those social media sites people seem to like. Tell everyone you know. Buy a physical copy of it and stand nude on the top of a tall building, holding the book above your head as police attempt to negotiate with you (no, of course don't do that one! Unless you really want to).
For anyone who reads the book and enjoys it, I'm working on a shorter prequel that focuses on Jessica (because Sverre's life was boring up until that fateful night). I'm also working on a sequel. The sequel is where things get *hairy*.
